Training & Expertise
I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The New School in New York City, in their American Psychological Association (APA) Accredited Program. Being in one of the most dynamic cities in the world afforded me many incredible training opportunities. My experiences at the NY State Office of Mental Health, Beth Israel Medical Center, and NYU Counseling & Wellness Services helped me gain invaluable training and expertise in treating individuals across the lifespan with various mental health needs.
In 2012, I returned home to sunny San Diego where I completed my remaining clinical hours at San Diego Center for Children. After an intense year of applications and interviews, I matched for APA internship at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital where I spent an incredible year fine-tuning my therapy and assessment skills while working with individuals from age 7-94! After this year I was named by one of my favorite supervisors “a true lifespan psychologist.”
I recently completed my postdoctoral fellowship at San Diego Center for Children where I was hired to open the center’s newest outpatient program. This opportunity allowed me to advance my program development skills and truly understand not just the mental health side of my discipline but the business aspects which are vital for creating and sustaining my own practice. My clinical experience was focused on working with children, adolescents, and families which bridged my interests in working with individuals across the lifespan. With this added experience and confidence under my belt, I founded Balance Wellness Center in September of 2015!
